Very interesting. I often wondered what the opinions were on this. Not to say that I would jump in and do it but in certain controlled circumstances, at some point, it might be a consideration. Sorry Bill, do I fail??

Nope, that is not a failure criteria. Neither I nor NAUI condone solo diving, but it is a personal choice to make. If the diver fully accepts and understands the real risks, then as an adult, they can make the choice to dive solo if they wish. BUT..... it is likely to make others in the dive community think of you differently because it is an area of such debate.
Only my opinion.
