Season's first dive?

Alright, since no one else has said anything, I'll commit and go first:
Anyone interested in a trip to the Connie in a couple of weeks? :woot:
Today's water temp is 45F, and typical for this time of year is +2F/week, so for those of us with wet suits, a one-tank dive seems do-able if the weather is good on the 2-4 long weekend, which this year comes almost a week early, with Mon being the 19th. I'd even suggest late morning, to give time for the sun to warm things up, to avoid getting in or out of the water while the air temp is still 4C. When is the OW class doing its checkouts?

I should be cleared to dive in a week...If your looking at May24 ish weekend..I can join the party if ya do not mind a Quebecer among the crowd..:D

Alexandria Bay (upriver from Boldt Isle): 48.2F
Superior Shoals (east end of 1000 Islands Pkwy): 50.0F
Brockville: reports of low 40s at depth this past weekend

Forecast for Cardinal:
Sat: Sun and clouds, low 6C, high 14C, winds 22
Sun: Mostly cloudy, possibility of showers, low 4C, high 13C, winds 24
Mon: Periods of rain, low 4C, high 14C, winds 22

I hate to say it, but it's starting to sound a little cool-ish. I can handle 40s if it's sunny and warm, but... :-(

Three of us are headed to Brockville (Blockhouse) on Saturday (17th) for the first wetsuit dip of the season. We'll probably do Prescott in the afternoon. Anyone brave enough for the temps are welcomed to join us (0930 at Blockhouse)

I wish I could come this weekend, but I'm running a race on Sunday. I did some research, and can't risk the dive throwing off my performance on race day.

If anyone ELSE can't make it out this weekend, would they be interested in a dive on the June 1st weekend?

Sunday? What are you running? I'm in the marathon. Interestingly, I've noticed the training has really screwed up my buoyancy. I was in the pool recently, and found out I'm not longer positive. :-(
