If you could have either a Zodiac or a Scooter, which would you choose? I'm not sure which is more convenient for seeing more wrecks. With the scooter you can scooter from shore to the wrecks, and don't have to worry about boat expenses. With a zodiac you can travel on the surface to the wreck but then you have to think about things like insurance and having a bubble watcher on the boat.

Oops thats "diving" not "divine"

Zodiac has way WAY way more range. That means more sites accessable and more easily.

There are very few places you can scooter to but not boat to (actualy, none that I can think of) in the St Lawrence. But there are a great many that are ether a logistical nightmare (multiple scooters + chalenging navigation) or imposible to scooter to that you can boat to.

Our group has been debating this exact question.

Looks like scooters for us.

For some of us, solving the nightmareish logistics & navigation on the multiple scooter dives is half the fun. That being said, I'd love to run to the jodry whenever I want to, and even with 2 scooters its still a bit out of range.

Do what I did - get your good dive buddies to buy zodiacs, then you can get the scooter.

Thats an excellent idea. I'll get right on that. :)

Well, yes.. a scooter is more FUN than a hole in the water into which you pour money. (boat) :)

My vote is for scooters, but that is cuz we don't sell zodiacs LOL. That is unless Submerge or Dive Xtras is making a boat for 2008 :-)

What would be the best size for a Zodiac if one was to be purchased for tech diving?

Here's one sized for solo divers:

Would something like this be safe and/or legal to take out across the river?

Legal, yes. Safe...uh....

That size is pretty much used as a tender for a larger boat or yacht

Is this boat big enough? (I've never been on a zodiac before or dove from one)

i'd try and get something at least 16' thats what the toronto boys have and it can hold at least 4 fully kitted divers.
