Booking a boat now for this date. Possibly 2 dives on the Wolfe Islander or perhaps the Wolfe and 1 other wreck. Relatively basic dives. Cost will be announced as soon as I know. Need to be in Kingston (Portsmouth Olympic Harbour) by 8:30 am.
If you are interested, please PM me or post here and I will PM you.

Well, I have 4 so far. Need 6 minimum, up to a maximum of 14. Likely 2 dives on the Wolfe unless we also go the the Aloha/Effie Mae or something. Trying to cater to the newer divers.
Not sure of temps, I just always assume we will be below the thermocline at about 60 feet or so. So, like, um, cold maybe.
Looks like $75 per head for the dives.

Bill,
I sort of fighured it might be, um cold, but was windering of the full 7mm with 7mm hooded vest would be needed or if just the 7mm. Judy and I generally have no problems with temps in the 60 - 70 degrees with the just the 7mm, so I take it to mean we will probably need both the full suits and hooded vests.

Full 7mm. Can get to be in the mid 50s below thermocline. Sometimes colder. I always assume full 7mm (double layer) or drysuit for Kingston.
I suppose you could ask on OD what the current temps are.

Here's a link to NOAA Buoys for surface water temps. Just click the buoys on the map in your area of interest.

Nope. Somehow, we don't see the allure of getting up at o'dark-hundred for a two hour drive to K'town to dive a pair of zebra-mussel encrusted wrecks in low viz water, and pay $75 a head for the privilege. But that's just because we're lazy and cheapskates :D

Well, this was originally intended to get some of the newer divers a chance to see some new stuff. Not old zebra-mussel encrusted wrecks like you Tom. ;-)

As experienced divers, sometimes it's easy to forget that it can be difficult for newer divers to get organized and to get out to do some diving. While after hundreds of dives, a wreck like the Wolfe may not hold as much allure, but to those new to the sport, it can be a really neat dive. While one diver may not find much value in a dive, another diver might.....

Yes and I third it, I've done over 300 dives and I still think the Wolfe Islander is going to be exciting! Although, I've only dove the wolfe islander once.

3/4 of us will be there as well, all be it on a different boat.
After having done my last couple of dives in BM 130s, I'm looking forward to returning to SM.
See you on the wreck.

A pity the place doesn't open until 10 am on Sundays. It would make a great place to pick up eats for the surface interval. :)
